  • How do I know my baby is getting enough milk?
    Your baby gains weight steadily after the first 2 weeks. It's normal for babies to lose some of their birth weight in the first 2 weeks.
  • Will abortion affect my ability to get pregnant in future?
    Having an abortion will not usually affect your chances of becoming pregnant and having normal pregnancies in the future. There's a very small risk to your fertility and future pregnancies if you develop a womb infection after the procedure that's not treated promptly. Get medical advice as soon as possible if you experience any signs or symptoms of infection after an abortion, such as • Severe pain in the tummy, pelvis or lower back • Fever • Unusual or smelly vaginal discharge • Feeling or being sick • Bleeding between periods or after sex
  • When should you see a gynaecologist for the first time?
    Ideally, girls should schedule their first visit to a gynaecologist between the ages of 13-15 years. It might just be a general talk with the doctor and know what to expect from your future visits. It is advisable to visit gynaecologists annually for the check-up and at any other time when there is a concerning issue.
  • Can a man see a gynaecologist?
    Yes. There are times when men pay a visit to gynaecologists for their fertility problems. We must note that in 30-40% cases, it is the male partner who is at fault. Treatment for such men is also provided by gynaecologists.
  • When should you go to the gynaecologist for pregnancy?
    There is no right or wrong time, but ideally, you should make your first appointment with your gynaecologist between 6-12 weeks of your pregnancy. However, your doctor will guide you on when you should visit depending on your health conditions.
  • Can women get pregnant when she has PCOD?
    Yes, women with PCOD can get pregnant and complete pregnancy. This requires planning and follow-up consultation with gynaecologist to avoid any future complications.
  • Can you have weight gain in PCOD/PCOS?
    Yes, women can gain weight in PCOD problem or PCOS due to metabolism, hormonal imbalance and increased level of androgen (male hormone).
